Do I need Sober Living?
Most people enter Sober Living after completing a Inpatient Drug Rehab Program to help them transition back to a normal living situation. Other people use sober living for the convenience because Sober Living provides an inexpensive, safe, and structured living environment for people in early recovery from addiction. Sober Living is an arrangement where the person shares the residents with other people in early recover.
What is required at Sober Living Homes?
The residents of the have daily responsibly that they must attend to in order to maintain their resident status. Most Sober Living Homes have a "house manager" that is responsible for the daily activities of the residents.
These responsibilities usually include:
- Making their own bed
- Cooking their own meals
- Assist in community choirs (such as vacuuming, taking out the trash ...ect.)
- Obtain Employment, or seeking employment
- Attend House Meetings
- Attend 12 step meetings (usually minimum of 5 per week)
- Be actively involved in their own recovery
- Pay their rent on time
