 Editor's Review
The Lighthouse is a supervised alcohol and drug free environment which plays an important role in supporting sobriety. Sober living helps to maintain an alcohol and drug free lifestyle by establishing a living environment that supports individual goals and positive peer interaction. Residents living in a sober environment are surrounded by others who share a common experience and who all support one another in their sobriety. Individuals in drug and alcohol free houses often become residents at the Lighthouse after being in a residential alcohol or recovery or treatment facility. The Lighthouse provides a licensed addiction counselor CACIII and Case Managers who supervise and support individual treatment plans.

The Lighthouse in Fort Collins is an attempt at a sober living facility for men. I mean just that...ATTEMPT. Not only is it merely a revolving door for repeated use, but it is an environment that causes many who live there to feel like using more. The staff is disrespectful often times refusing to go the the food bank unless chores are done. They speak down to every resident unless you offer yourself up as a snitch or let them "exercise" you (yes I do mean in the religious sense). The "faith based" way the house is run allows for constant discrimination. Staff believes that a "cure" through God will set you free. THis place is terrible for anyone's self esteem, self image, and recovery since fear is used often times for discipline. I would not recommend this facility to anyone seeing as it is only becoming worse by the day and the perks (comp lab, game room, laundry facility, etc) are being slowly let go and removed to the point that is turning into a half-way house or homeless shelter!!
